In the BlueBird Connector, a “Connection Failure” message is usually accompanied by a video, which will tell you how to solve the connection failure. If you have followed the steps in the video and continue to receive a “Connection Failure” message, here are some steps you can take:
- If you are using a bluetooth dongle or a USB cable, first check to see if you are using the correct connection method and that it is plugged in correctly. If you are using a Chromebook, the Hummingbird Bit will only function when tethered via a USB cable. If you are using a Windows computer, the Hummingbird Bit will function when tethered by USB cable or when using the bluetooth dongle. If you are using a Mac computer, the Hummingbird Bit will function when connected to your Mac’s built-in bluetooth.
- If you have plugged your dongle or USB cable into the computer but you continue to get the video prompting you to plug in the dongle or USB cable, then there is a chance your USB port on your computer is unpowered of faulty. Try another USB port on the computer.
- If you have plugged your USB cable into a different port on the computer, but you continue to get the video prompting you to plug in USB cable, then the USB cable may be faulty. Try another USB cable.
